Fundraising & Operations Manager
Hi, I’m Dee. I bring people, ideas and projects together to improve and support Children’s Health initiatives.
I have always been the classic “go-getter”, never content to simply punch in-out without having a measurable impact for the organisation I was working for. Over the years, I’ve learned to embrace my driven nature and taken what I have learned from over a decade of sales and marketing roles into the non-profit space. I have been in non-profit management roles since 2019, which has pushed me to truly think outside of the box.
I now believe creativity is the number one skill needed in the charity space paired with an enthusiastic team.
While we all have an awareness of children’s health, it wasn’t until 2018 when my 15-mth old son was diagnosed with a rare form of Childhood Dementia that it became a personal mission. Despite the incurable diagnosis, I was determined to be on the forefront and quickly joined the patient advocate group forming a new base in Melbourne. Over the past 3 years, I have helped this foundation raise over $500k, organised large and small events, increased its membership and built its stakeholder relationships from the ground up. Fighting for Children’s Health, whether in the rare disease space or for the hospitals, is more than a passion… it’s a necessity.
Together with my husband and now 5-yr old, we live local to Tullamarine. Family is the root of all of my inspiration and I am incredibly grateful to be able to join UBC’s.
