Good Friday Appeal Update

It is with a heavy heart that UBC (Uncle Bobs Club) has made the decision to withdraw from the 2020 Good Friday Appeal.

This decision was not made lightly, our primary concern is the ongoing health & wellbeing of our members, volunteers & staff. Many of our collectors & supporters fall within what has deemed to be a “high risk” category and we do not want to place anyone in jeopardy of being infected with the COVID-19 virus.

Other determining factors were:

1) Current Federal, State & Local advices in regard to COVID-19

2) Several of our Corporate Partners & Collectors had considerable concerns regarding the health of their collectors & the ability to recruit adequate collectors to cover our proposed collection areas

3) Considerable doubts concerning our ability to obtain secure counting areas and facilities given current limitations on group numbers & restrictions on where this may have taken place

4) The cancellation of many other events supporting this year’s Appeal including the Kids Day Out & Run for the Kids.

Just like us, many of you will be disappointed with this decision. The Club has a proud history of supporting the Appeal since 1948, and with your assistance & support, we will be back next year, bigger and better, supporting Children’s Health in Victoria.

If you would like to donate to the GFA please go to ubcvic.org.au/donate and select Good Friday Appeal to make your donation. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
