Latrobe Regional Hospital - Infant Therapy Blanket
$7,000
Neonatal Jaundice occurs in 60% of full-term babies and 85% of babies born prematurely. Unlike older systems for treating neonatal jaundice, this therapy blanket exerts a blue light that helps breakdown damaging levels of bilirubin in the bloodstream whilst allowing for the baby to be held.
This means the baby can be fed, or even rocked throughout the therapy sessions. Promoting a healing environment without interrupting the critical benefits of skin-to-skin contact between infant and parent.

Barwon Health - Patient Beds
$15,000
The current Childrens Ward received a major redevelopment in 2013 that saw the entire ward reconfigured and all equipment updated. This has been well received and appreciated by Barwon Health staff, patients and their families and very well utilised during the course of the past 9 years. As everything does, some equipment is now in need of updating and replacing.
The current need for the ward is the replacement of patient beds. The beds ensure a safe and comfortable experience for patients and allow staff to effectively and efficiently care for patients at the bedside.

Northern Health - Sleeper Chair
$7,500
Childbirth and labour can be a long and tiring event for the mother, this is also true for the partner, loved one or support person. When labour stalls, rest is so important. Access to a sleeper/support chair gives the partner, loved one or support person the opportunity to rest and possibly sleep during moments when the mother is also resting. Beyond the birth, a sleeper chair gives the partner, loved one or support person the opportunity to remain with mother and baby for longer, ensuring the skin-to-skin contact and bonding can begin immediately.

Monash Health - Severe Asthma Clinic Equipment
$7,500
In children with severe asthma, the airways can be persistently narrowed despite treatment with preventer puffers. This means that children continue to experience distressing asthmatic symptoms despite receiving long-term treatment and medication.
As part of our local giving for local health program, UBC has partnered with Monash Health Foundation to raise funds for a Severe Asthma Clinic Equipment to treat children from 5 to 18 years old.
