Val Peacock has been with Uncle Bobs Club for about 43 years, and over those years, she and her late husband Len also involved the rest of the Peacock clan to volunteer with UBC in support of children’s health.
With 3 children, 6 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren (ages between 3 – 64) in tow, this amazing family estimated they have raised tens of thousands, if not $100,000.00 for the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Val started with UBC when she was living in Dandenong. When she made the move to Carisbrook 10 years later, she continued for another 14 years. Another move to Drouin where she has been for the last 19 years, her volunteer efforts continues. Despite her youthful age of 85, Val declares “I’ll keep going as long as I can.”
The group currently consists of 3 active members. Val Peacock herself, Hazel Hadley and her son Wayne Peacock, who travels up from up Dandenong to assist with all fundraising activities they are running.
Val’s most enjoyable moment was when she was volunteering in Dandenong and working with Shirley Endey and Brian Daly. Good times…..
